Overview

The Audi A6 is the latest version of the Audi 100, the model whose generation took off in 1995. Since its introduction in 1995; the Audi A6 has received a series of updates. The last of these redesigns happened three years back; since then, the Audi A6 has been receiving minor changes into each year's models. The A6 comes with single-frame grill; bumpers; LED daytime running lights; fog lamps; gentle lip on the trunk; and air vents. The 2010 Audi A6 locks horns with the Infiniti M and the BMW 5 Series. Audi A6 sedan gets a new, more powerful 3.2 FSI V6 engine upgraded with the Audi Valvelift System (AVS). The 265 horsepower engine complements the level of functional luxury present throughout the A6, and takes its place alongside the supercharged 3.0 TFSI and 4.2 FSI V8 engines to offer buyers a versatile array of powertrain choices.

Powertrain And Performance

The 2010 Audi A6, a midsize luxury car, is offered in both sedan and a wagon body styles. Sedan is simply called A6, while Wagon is known as Avant. The 2010 Audi A6 offers choice of six gasoline and four diesel type engines. A new supercharged 3.0-liter V6 has been newly added to the engine choices for 2010. The 170-horsepower 2.0 TFSI turbocharged four-cylinder is the smallest gas engine. Other engine types on the 2010 A6 include a 255-horsepower 3.2-liter V6 engine with FSI Direct Injection technology; a 350-horsepower 4.2-liter V8 engine with direct fuel-Injection technology; a 290-horsepower 2.8-liter FSI V6; and an optional 2.8-liter FSI V6 that produces 190-horsepower or 220-horsepower. The direct fuel-injection technology provides optimum performance and efficiency. All A6 models, but the front - wheel drive 3.2 sedans get a six-speed automatic transmission and the Quattro all-wheel drive system. The front-wheel drive 3.2 sedan features a seven-speed continuously variable transmission The 3.2 Quattro sedan needs 7.9 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph, while the time taken for this acceleration for the V-8 is 7.1 seconds. For all the sophistication and power the engine carries, it suffers a weakness during rough rides.

Build And Styling

The 2010 Audi A6 boasts enhanced design and interior along with a completely new powertrain. Its design is enhanced by a range of bold new accents that perfectly match its strong personality. The single-frame grill, bumpers, air vents and fog lights have all been redesigned. LED lighting technology for both front DRL and side mirror lighting, a new wheel program, and interior accent updates round out the impressive improvements. The instrument panel uses new higher-resolution graphics. Tastefully-appointed chrome trim, even on the spokes of the steering wheel, call attention to its overall elegance and inlays are available in either aluminum look or fine woods.

Safety Features
