Audi Models Eligible for 2010 Tax Credit
The Energy Policy Act stipulates several other caveats for hybrid tax eligibility. However, these requirements are typically not difficult to meet for the average driver. For example, alternative fuel tax credits are only extended to the original owner of a vehicle. As such, if you were to purchase a used 2010 model vehicle, then you would not be able to claim a tax credit.
Additionally, the 2010 new car must be purchased or leased for personal use by the individual claiming the tax credit. The vehicle must also be driven primarily in the United States.

Hybrid vehicles are not the only 2010 new cars eligible for tax savings. Some light-duty diesel and electric vehicles may also qualify such as these Audi's:

Audi R8 V10 named 2010 World Performance Car
 The Audi R8 V10 was named as the 2010 World Performance Car at the World Car of the Year Awards ceremony at the New York Auto Show. This is the second time that the R8 has won the World Performance Car award: the V8-powered R8 took this award in 2008.
Developed jointly with quattro GmbH, the Audi R8 V10 is powered by a 5.2 liter direct injection ten-cylinder engine which develops 386 kW (525 hp), enabling it to sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in just 3.9 seconds and then to a top speed of 316 km/h (196.35 mph). It features Audi technologies such as quattro permanent all-wheel drive, a lightweight aluminum body and the innovative all-LED lights.
This is the second World Performance Car award win for the Audi R8: the original V8-powered version won the same award in 2008. Whether a customer chooses an R8 with a V8 or a V10 engine, they will get a World Performance Car award winner.
This is also the third Word Performance Car award for Audi in the five years that the award has been on offer: the RS 4 was named as the 2007 World Performance Car.
The truly global nature of the World Car jury is evidence that Audi is hitting the performance car sweet spot of car lovers around the world.

 Audi has launched the next generation of the A8 – the sportiest sedan of the luxury class sets new standards. Its elegantly styled body with the Audi Space Frame is aluminum, the engines are powerful and highly efficient, and the power transmission and running gear combine dynamics with convenience. The A8 displays its single-frame radiator grille like a proud coat of arms. Framed by a chrome edge, the grille presents a new design - sculptured, three-dimensional and rich in details. With angular upper corners, it is neatly integrated in the front section, while the prominent, horizontal chrome braces emphasize the vehicle width. The Audi A8 looks out on the world through newly designed headlights - with xenon plus units and the innovative full LED headlights, a technology Audi was the first to introduce worldwide in the R8 high-performance sports car. The adaptive light system augments the xenon plus units - it controls the swiveling modules so that they always provide the perfect lighting for intersections, the city, country roads and highways. The new all-weather light integrated into the headlights replaces the fog lights. Their traditional location in the air intakes is now occupied by the radar sensors of the optional adaptive cruise control. Adaptive cruise control builds on the functionalities of the cruise control system and, within certain system limits, maintains the driver-selected comfort spacing from the vehicle in front automatically. A technological breakthrough from Audi is the networking of the headlight control unit with the optional MMI navigation plus. The navigation system analyzes the route ahead and relays the data to the light computer to activate highway lighting with its extended range while still on the ramp to the highway, for example. Before entering an intersection, the system activates the cornering light, which provides wider-angle illumination and thus enhances safety.
